Earls Barton Neighbourhood Plan Submitted to BCW for Regulation 16 Consultation – June 2014

Earls Barton Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents have been submitted to the Borough Council of Wellingborough in June 2014. Following the Regulation 16 consultation process, and any necessary amendments following the consultation responses, BCW will seek to identify an examiner, and then submit the EBNP for independent examination.

Development Sites

Many people will be aware that a development site is currently being proposed to the East of Station Road by Redrow Homes for development. The site would be accessed from Station Road and also Allebone Close. The Parish Council and members of the Neighbourhood Plan Project Group met with Redrow Homes on 13th June to understand what they are proposing to submit as a planning application.

Some of the feedback the Neighbourhood Plan Project Team has received, via questionnaires, emails and talking with people face to face, is the worry that the current services within the village will simply not be able to cope with the building of new homes and the influx of new residents into the village.

Results of the Housing Needs Survey

The Housing Needs Survey has been compiled in partnership with the Borough Council of Wellingborough. The Council has been the lead Authority in producing the Survey and analysing it. HOUSING NEEDS IN EARLS BARTON

Under the new Localism Act 2011 the Parish Council has been given new powers. As part of these powers a Neighbourhood Plan Project Group has been established for Earls Barton. The Parish Council sought your views on a range of issues during May & June on how you want to see Earls Barton planned for the future. For the next stage of this process we need to understand what you feel about the housing requirements within Earls Barton.

Borough Council of Wellingborough Accept Earls Barton’s Neighbourhood Area Application

Under Section 61G of the Town and Country Planning Act 19909 as inserted by paragraph 2 of schedyle 8 of the Localism Act 2011, the application for the designation of Earls Barton as a Neighbourhoord Are was submitted to the Borough Council of Wellingborough from Earls Barton Parish Council and subsequently approved.
