Under the new Localism Act 2011 the Parish Council has been given new powers.  As part of these powers a Neighbourhood Plan Project Group has been established for Earls Barton.  The Parish Council sought your views on a range of issues during May & June on how you want to see Earls Barton planned for the future.

For the next stage of this process we need to understand what you feel about the housing requirements within Earls Barton.

The lack of homes in Earls Barton is having a damaging effect on our community. Many are having to move away from the village to find affordable accommodation which has only been made worse by the current housing market situation and difficulty obtaining mortgages.

As part of the Earls Barton Neighbourhood Plan the Parish Council, in conjunction with the Borough Council of Wellingborough, is undertaking a Housing Needs Survey in the village to identify whether or not the housing needs of local people are being met. It would be very helpful if you could spend a few moments completing the enclosed survey. This is vital for our understanding of the housing needs within our community and to the continued development of your Neighbourhood Plan.

All the information you give will be treated in the strictest confidence and no personal data is released to any outside organisation. The data will be used to enable us to provide a profile of local village needs, together with a general picture of the current and future housing need. Please use the pre-paid envelope attached to return this survey. The closing date for replies is 4.00 p.m. on Friday 14th September 2012.

Thank you for your help in conducting this survey. If you have any queries regarding this survey please contact the Neighbourhood Plan Project Team on 07832 753197.
